about
ghostbag is an artist-led experimental company based in scotland.
driven by the artistic partnership of eszter marsalko and wils wilson we make shows, dances, films and gatherings. our company name comes from alan warner’s novel “The Man Who Walked”, and is a reference to the familiar image of a plastic bag floating around. ‘ghostbag’ is also a metaphor for any living thing.
we work with a diverse group of collaborators to make art that enhances the liveness of the moment and creates opportunities for connection - with other people, with the universe itself. we see art as a vital part of existence which everyone both needs and deserves.
ghostbag’s live work includes triffid, a site-specific audio experience and video installation and the halcyon days, a new, participatory community ritual.
our work for screen includes the halcyon days, a trilogy of short art films. the films in the trilogy - crowd, the way i missed the end and the halcyon days - are linked through formal experimentation and themes of connection, transience and a focus on the natural world.
